New Delhi: Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath On Thursday reprimanded all those who are supporting Taliban since it took over Afghanistan In a flash of lightning.
On the third day of the monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Adityanath said those who are shamelessly supporting Taliban insurgents should be exposed.
“Some people are supporting Taliban. What cruelty is being done to women and children there? But some people are shamelessly supporting Taliban. All these faces should be exposed,” the chief minister said.
His comment comes in the background of some All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) members and SP leaders are coming out in open support of Taliban and praising the organization
on Wednesday, Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Shafiqur Rehman Barak and two others were booked for “freedom struggle” remarks on the Taliban takeover.
Barak had previously supported regime change in Afghanistan, saying the Taliban were fighting for their country’s independence and that the Afghan people wanted freedom under its leadership.
AIMPLB secretary Maulana Umrain Mahfouz Rahmani described the Taliban takeover on social media as an extraordinary success, a heavenly decision and a sign that wars are won with God’s help.
The board, however, distanced itself from the comments and said it does not stand by the views of some of its members.
