Yeti Narasimhanand kept in ‘house arrest’, know why

GHAZIABAD: Controversial priest Yati Narasimhanand Saraswati of Dasna Devi temple was put under “house arrest” for a day on Friday, days after he was announced to move to Delhi’s Jama Masjid. The priest had said that he would go to the mosque on June 17 and perform on the Quran. The Ghaziabad administration had earlier issued a notice to him and warned of legal action if he made a statement spreading communal hatred.

On his detention, SDM (Sadar) Vinay Kumar Singh told PTI, “The step was taken to maintain law and order in the district.” He said the priest would be kept under strict surveillance till midnight.

Meanwhile, an purported video clip of Pujari surfaced on social media. He said in the video, “Muslims are roaming on the road without any fear. Violence is spreading in the country day by day and Muslim leaders are issuing ‘fatwas’ to behead Hindus.”

He alleged, “During British times our saints used to go to Jama Masjid under the protection of the British and discuss scriptures. Today’s rulers will not give protection to Hindus and are suppressing their legitimate demands.” “On the other hand, Muslim leaders like Owaisi and Madani have been given a free hand to plan a strategy to kill Hindus,” priest added. He urged Hindus to save Hinduism.
