Yediyurappa asks Karnataka CM to withdraw order granting him cabinet minister status

Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Sunday urged Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to withdraw his order granting him cabinet rank status.

Yediyurappa in his letter to Bommai said, “I request you to provide only those facilities which are given to an immediate former chief minister and withdraw the order giving me cabinet rank.”

Bommai on Saturday ordered Yeddyurappa to be given minister-like facilities.

Yediyurappa resigned on July 26, coinciding with the completion of his two-year term in office.

A day after his resignation, Yediyurappa proposed Bommai’s name as the leader in the BJP Legislature Party meeting and accordingly everyone accepted and on 28 July Bommai was sworn in as the new Chief Minister.
