One of India’s finest and most influential filmmakers of the Indian cinema industry and the king of romance, Yash Chopra has helped build the careers of many of the biggest stars of the Hindi film industry, including actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. Huh. Some of the top 90s actresses like Sridevi, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukerji and Kajol have also achieved stardom with YRF. Influencing an entire generation of filmmakers, Yash Chopra left behind his long legacy, Yash Raj Films, YRF. Today on the filmmaker’s 9th death anniversary, here are the names of actors who were launched by YRF and some of whom went on to become A-list stars:
Anushka Sharma YRF is one of the first major stars to debut with Shah Rukh Khan in the film, which was directed by Aditya Chopra – Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Anushka was later seen in YRF films such as Ladies Vs Ricky Behl, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Sultan, and Sui Dhaaga: Made in India.
Ranveer singh Made his debut with Band Baaja Baaraat starring Anushka Sharma in the lead role. She was later seen playing lead roles in other YRF films such as Ladies Vs Ricky Behl, Gunday and Kill Dil.
Parineeti Chopra She made her debut with YRF’s Ladies Vs Ricky Behl. She has done several YRF films like Shuddh Desi Romance, Daawat-e-Ishq, Meri Pyaari Bindu, and her latest, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar.
Arjun Kapoor Made his debut as Parma, the male lead in Ishaqzaade opposite Parineeti Chopra. The actor was further seen in YRF films like Aurangzeb, Gunday and his latest Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar.
Bhumi Pednekar, He who was a former assistant of Shanu auditioned for YRF’s Dum Laga Ke Haisha. Bhumi got selected and she played the lead role opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. The actress was said to have gained tremendous weight to play the plus-size wife for the character of Ayushmann. Bhumi hasn’t been seen in a YRF film since her debut but the role established her as an A-League actress.
Vaani Kapoor She made her debut in 2013 with the film Shuddh Desi Romance, playing a supporting role. Vaani’s performance in the film is her best performance till date.
