Bollywood actress Yami Gautam has expressed her disappointment after several media portals did not mention her. She wrote, “Thanks for the response, but it’s time for media portals to start acknowledging the fact that a film also has female counterparts and their headlines are given respectful attention while writing.”
Several social media users also agreed with Yami and shared similar views. A netizen tweeted, “Agree with you. This patriarchy needs to stop.” Another user wrote, “Such hai ma’am… Female actresses should also be credited in articles and everywhere when someone is talking about the film.”
Yami Gautam has many films like ‘Bhoot Police’, ‘Lost’, ‘Dasvi’ and ‘A Thursday’. The actress says that she never lets down on the importance of judging a project on the basis of its writing and she always makes sure to stay true to herself while choosing a project.
Talking about her process before choosing a project, Yami said: “While reading a script, I always make sure to look at it as a reader as well. If it engages the audience inside me, then I should Know it will work on screen.”
She continued: “As an actor, I never miss the importance of judging a project on the basis of its writing because you are as good as your script.”
