Yami Gautam opens up about navigating Bollywood on her own terms, says she is her own godfather – Times of India

yami gautam recently talked about not having one Godfather in the industry and making it on my own.

In an interview with a news portal, Yami reportedly said that she would complete a decade Bollywood Next year and he has a better understanding of things now. She recalled making her Bollywood debut on her own and not having anyone to guide her. The actress said that Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar starrer ‘Bala‘ was the turning point of his career. Yami revealed that people told the film’s director Amar Kaushik that they didn’t see me in that role, but that one script was needed to turn things around.

Talking about her journey in the industry so far, Yami said that she is her own godfather. She also said that she had family which has been a support system in her life and has kept her wise. According to him the film industry can never be fully understood. People are always giving you career advice. The actress said she had to decide whether she personally held onto those thoughts. She had to push herself to not fall into this trap and focus on finding good roles.

Yami also talked about the constant media scrutiny and according to her it does not make the matter easy. According to him, untruths are written about you and you have to decide if you want to jump into the fish market and be the noise. You have to condition yourself.

Meanwhile, on the work front, she will next be seen in ‘.Bhoot Police‘ co-starring Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead roles. The film will be released on an OTT platform.

Apart from this, she will also be seen in ‘.Dasvi‘ Abhishek Bachchan and Nimrat Kaur co-star.
