Xiaomi 12 Ultra to come with Leica branding after new partnership?

New Delhi: German camera and optical lens giant Leica has tied up with electronics giant Xiaomi and the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Ultra is likely to feature Leica branding on its cameras. Just like the Mi 11 series, the Xiaomi 12 series could include the Xiaomi 12 Ultra and Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced Edition.

According to the latest leaks from Chinese leakster Digital Chat Station, the two companies have forged a partnership for the upcoming Xiaomi 12 lineup.

Also, as per a report by Xiaomiui.net, two devices, Xiaomi 12 Ultra and Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced Edition devices were seen in the Mi Code. The two models are said to be codenamed Loki and Thor.

Currently, there is not much information available about the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. However, the flagships are likely to debut in early 2022. According to Digital Chat Station, the phone could have three 50MP cameras and one of them could be a 1/1.5-inch periscope zoom lens with 5x optical zoom support.

Earlier reports suggested that Leica’s partnership with Huawei would come to an end after the launch of the flagship P50 series. However, there was no further update as to who Leica would partner with.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi recently announced its proprietary Loop LiquidCool technology, which has twice the cooling efficiencies compared to traditional vapor chamber solutions. Xiaomi intends to introduce the new Loop LiquidCool technology for its products in the second half of 2022. It is likely that the Xiaomi 12 lineup will come with this technology.

This proprietary technology from Xiaomi has an annular heat pipe system composed of an evaporator, a condenser, a refill chamber, as well as gas and liquid pipes. Placed over sources of heat, the evaporator contains a refrigerant that evaporates into a gas when the smartphone is under high workload. The gas and air flow then expands into the condenser, where the gas condenses again into a liquid. These fluids are absorbed and collected through tiny fibers in the refill chamber, which refill the evaporator, thus, making it a self-sustaining system.
