WPL 2023: We Put Together a Great Performance with Bat and Ball, says Meg Lanning

After beating Mumbai Indians by nine wickets in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), Delhi Capitals skipper Meg Lanning said she was happy with her team’s stupendous performance with bat and ball at the business end of the tournament.

On a slow pitch, which had some help from the pacers, Marijan Kapp, Shikha Pandey and Jess Jonassen picked up two wickets each, while Jemimah Rodrigues took two brilliant catches to keep Mumbai down to 109/8.

In reply, powerful 30-run stands from Meg Lanning, Shafali Verma and Ellyse Capse helped Delhi complete the chase in just nine overs. Delhi have now reached the top of the points table after finishing the chase early and have overtaken Mumbai in terms of net run rate.
