In this statement, Delhi consolidated their second position in the league table with the win as they now have six points after four matches.

Their only defeat so far came at the hands of Harmanpreet Kaur’s Mumbai Indians, who remain on top of the league table with three wins from three.

Both MI and DC are tied on 6 points but Mumbai have a better net run rate despite having played fewer games than the capital city team.

UP Warriors are third in the league with four points from three matches after registering wins over Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Their only defeat was to Delhi Capitals.

Gujarat Giants are fourth in the table with two points from 4 matches. GG’s only win came against RCB, which they managed to win by 11 runs.

And at the bottom of the table are RCB, who are yet to claim a win in the WPL despite playing it four times. The Bangalore-based franchise is yet to open its account and has zero points to its name.

WPL 2023 Orange Cap:

Delhi skipper Meg Lanning extended her lead at the top of the run-getters’ rankings with her unbeaten 21 against GG, taking her tally to 206 runs for the season.

With her blitzkrieg against DC teammate Shafali GG, she moved up to the second spot in the rankings and scored 179 runs this season.

MI’s Hayley Mathews is third in the top scorers table with 156 runs in 3 matches.

MI’s Saika Ishaq still holds the Purple Cap with 9 wickets in three games, followed by UPW’s Sofia Ecclestone with 7 wickets in 3 games.
