Deandra Dottin out of WPL 2023, Kim Garth comes in as replacement
Gujarat Giants confirmed the development on Friday night, adding that Australia’s Kimberley Garth has been included as Dottin’s replacement.
Ahead of the first match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023, Gujarat Giants suffered a major setback when all-rounder Diandra Dottin was ruled out. The franchise confirmed the development on Friday night, saying that Australia’s Kimberley Garth has been included in place of Dottin.

Ace West Indies all-rounder Deandra Dottin is recovering from a medical condition and has been replaced by Australian pacer Kim Garth. Adani Gujarat Giants wishes DeAndra a speedy recovery and welcomes the talented Kim Garth.

In the WPL player auction, Gujarat Giants bought Dottin for Rs 60 lakhs. Garth remained unsold there. Although the latter was a part of Australia’s victorious campaign in the recently concluded T20 World Cup in South Africa, he only played warm-up games before the main event.
Kimberley Garth has been playing since 2010 and has represented Australia in 36 T20Is and 54 T20Is. He is a right arm medium pace bowler and a right handed batsman.

He has taken 23 wickets in his 36 ODIs and averages 36.39. He has also taken 43 wickets in 54 T20I matches and has an economy rate of 5.92.
Garth’s batting record is also impressive. He has scored 762 runs in 46 T20 innings and has a half-century in his account. She bats at a decent strike rate of 79.04. Overall, Kimberley Garth is an impressive all-rounder who has been an important member of the Australian team.
