World’s largest party commits ‘hooligandi’ in Delhi, says Kejriwal as AAP moved HC with vandalism

new Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party over the alleged attack and vandalism at his official residence.

“If the world’s largest and ruling party does such ‘goondagardi’ in Delhi, what message will it send to the youth of the country? The country cannot progress like this,” he was quoted by news agency ANI.

Delhi Chief Minister said, “Arvind Kejriwal is not important, but the country is. I can lay down my life for the country.”

AAP demands High Court to conduct SIT probe in demolition case at Delhi Chief Minister’s residence

The statement comes after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bhardwaj moved the Delhi High Court against the alleged attack and vandalism on the official residence of the Delhi CM on March 30.

According to ANI, the petition has sought a direction to constitute a Special Investigation Team to conduct an independent, impartial and time bound criminal investigation into the attack and its perpetrators.

In the petition, AAP alleged that the attack was carried out by BJP workers and it appears to have been carried out with the tacit involvement of Delhi Police.

“Earlier on Wednesday, several BJP goons under the guise of a protest attacked the official residence of the Delhi CM. Scenes of the incidents show that these goons negligently broke through the security cordon (created by Delhi Police). Walked away, kicked and smashed boom barriers, smashed CCTV cameras with sticks, threw paint at the gate of the residence, and nearly ran over the gate, while Delhi Police personnel simply watched, doing nothing to stop the protesters. were,” said the petition, as reported by ANI.

Sitting AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj asserted that the party strongly supports the right to peaceful protest, even if such protest is against the Delhi government, however, in the name of protest, violence cannot and should not be allowed. He should be forgiven.

“In this case, the violence was particularly serious because it was directed towards the CM of Delhi and his family. It was the use of force to subdue the highest elected official in the NCT of Delhi and therefore the elected government of Delhi. It was a direct attack on democracy,” the petition reads.

The AAP leader alleged that those who were charged with protecting the Chief Minister of Delhi, i.e. Delhi Police, did so regardless of the fact that they were protecting an elected constitutional functionary and regardless of the fact that He was given jade, completely giving up his duty. Also security by Delhi Police itself.

The petition mentions that the Delhi Police’s inaction is in gross violation of this Court’s order dated August 22, 2017, directing the Delhi Police to ensure that there is no unnecessary protest on the road in front of the residence of the Chief Minister of Delhi. No, because it is a residential area.

Thus it appears that the Delhi Police was in cahoots with the goons as the goons are members of the ruling party in the central government, which has complete control over the Delhi Police through the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The petition points to a similar instance in which the Deputy Chief Minister’s residence was “attacked by BJP goons on December 10, 2020, where the Delhi Police took no steps to stop the attackers and failed thereafter.” Take some concrete criminal action against the attackers.”
