Coming in to bat at No. 4, Ghosh’s knock lasted just 56 balls with the help of three fours and nine sixes.

Richa Ghosh played an aggressive inning of 91 not out India Beat Bangladesh by 52 runs in practice match before Women’s T20 World Cup here on Wednesday.

Deciding to bat, India rode on Ghosh’s exploits with the bat to post an impressive 183 for 5 and then restricted Bangladesh to 131 for 8.

Coming in to bat at No. 4, Ghosh’s knock lasted just 56 balls with the help of three fours and nine sixes.

Apart from Ghosh, Jemimah Rodrigues played a fluent innings of 41 runs in 27 balls, in which she hit six fours and a six.

However, India did not start well, losing three wickets for 35 runs with Yastika Bhatia (10), U-19 T20 World Cup winning team captain Shafali Verma (9) and Harleen Deol (10) all dismissed cheaply .

Ghosh then attacked the opposition with Rodrigues adding a quickfire 92 for the fourth wicket to set the stage for India’s impressive score.

Left-arm spinner Nahida Akhtar took two wickets for Bangladesh.

In reply, Bangladesh kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were never in the hunt.

Captain Nigar Sultana scored 40 runs in 36 balls, while opener Murshida Khatoon scored 32 runs.

Leg-break bowler Devika Vaidya (2/21) took two wickets for India, while Shefali (1/13), Radha Yadav (1/17), Deepti Sharma (1/15), Rajeshwari Gaikwad (1/20) and Anjali Sarwani (1/22) took one wicket each.

The Women’s T20 World Cup begins in Cape Town on Friday and India will open their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday.
