Actress Raveena Tandon, through her character in the upcoming Netflix show “Aranyak”, explores the difficulties women police officers face in their personal and professional lives. The actor, who plays a cop named Kasturi in the series, Dogra, who is investigating a case, said he was attracted to the project because his character was a “highly independent” talented officer who wanted to excel in his life. The actor was speaking at a special event to launch the trailer of the show at Lonavala, a hill station town near Mumbai.

He was accompanied by filmmaker Rohan Sippy, “Aranyak” showrunner, series director Vinay Vishal, writer Charudutt Acharya and his co-stars Ashutosh Rana, Meghna Malik and Zakir Hussain.

‘Aranyak’ also stars Parambrata Chatterjee. Tandon, 47, said that she has got the right kind of emotional support, which many women do not get. The actor said, the series will showcase the hardships faced by a female officer in the backdrop of a mystery.
