A Chandigarh district court has sentenced a female tutor residing in Ram Darbar here to 10 years for having sex with a 14-year-old juvenile. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on this 37-year-old female tutor. In the year 2018, the police station of Sector-31 had registered an FIR against the accused female tutor under the POCSO Act. At that time the age of the female tutor was 34 years. Police investigation revealed that the said female teacher forcibly had a physical relationship with a 14-year-old student for 8 months. Various pressures were put on the student for this.
A 14-year-old student, who was a victim of exploitation of a female teacher, used to go to study tuition with his younger sister to a female teacher living in Ram Darbar. Suddenly that teacher removed the student’s younger sister from tuition. When the parents asked the teacher the reason for this, she said that she was disrupting the student’s studies.
Hearing in fast track court
After this the female teacher started teaching the student alone and had a physical relationship with him. This went on for about 8 months. The female tutor used to force the student to have a physical relationship by putting various pressures on her. The matter came to light when the student, upset by the harassment of the female tutor, refused to go to her for tuition and told everything to her family. After that the parents of the student gave a complaint to the Sector-31 police station. After receiving a complaint from the parents of the student, the police arrested the female tutor by registering a case under the POCSO Act at Sector-31 police station. For the last 3 years, the hearing of this case was going on in the fast track court of ADJ Swati Sehgal.

The parents alleged in their complaint that the said teacher also does obscene chatting with their child on the phone at night. The family first thought that the teacher must have been messaging about studies in the routine, but when they saw obscene chatting, they came to know about the truth. One day the female teacher forced her to take the student with her and when she did not agree, the teacher fed her child a poisonous thing.
