Woman Cop Found Half-Naked In Pool Of Blood Inside Train At Ayodhya Junction

A female cop was found beneath the lower berth of Saryu Express at Ayodhya Junction in a half-naked position. She had face and head injuries and was lying in a pool of blood without her lower part of uniform.

On Wednesday morning, a passenger who boarded the train at Ayodhya Junction informed GRP men at the platform. The video footage covered by the first responders saw the woman cop struggling in pain. She was first taken to a local hospital whereupon referred to King’s George Medical University’s trauma center in Lucknow.

“Her condition is stable but she is not in condition to speak. Based on the written complaint of her brother, an FIR has been lodged under IPC sections 307, 353, and 332,” said Poonam Yadav, SP, GRP, Lucknow.

“She was on duty when she sustained grievous injuries,” said a GRP official. “The victim is posted in Sultanpur district with 181 women helpline center under Kotwali police limits. She was assigned duty for ‘Sawan Mela’ in Ayodhya district and was to deboard at the junction but somehow she missed to get off,” Pappu Yadav, station house officer, Ayodhya Cantt station, GRP.

As per GRP’s claims, the victim had to deboard at Ayodhya station on Tuesday night to be on duty on Wednesday morning but she somehow continued her journey till the last destination of Saryu Express i.e. Mankapur. On the return journey from Mankapur junction, the train reached Ayodhya junction at 03:46 am and it was here that the passenger who boarded the train alerted the GRP officials.

Notably, the incident happened in the general coach of Saryu Express. The coach remaining vacant after the incident till Mankapur and then on return from Mankapur to Ayodhya seems fishy.

“Since the case is of a sensitive nature and still in its initial stage, no further comments can be made. We’ve sent the recovered items from the victim to the forensic department for further probe”, Pooja Yadav, SP, GRP.
