With the promise of seamless connectivity and smart features, the OnePlus Buds Pro may set the bus bar for all other TWS sets

While we’re not all lucky enough to have gotten our hands on the OnePlus Buds Pro just yet, it’s worth taking a closer look at its features and potentially appreciating the value it offers.

For Rs 9,990, you are getting the promise of adaptive ANC, an IP55 water and dust resistance rating, fast and wireless charging options, seamless connectivity with other OnePlus devices and exceptional audio quality. Not to mention an Audio ID feature that tunes the output to match your hearing, a low latency gaming mode, and more. Hell, there’s even a way to put white noise in your ears.

Whether or not the Buds Pro deliver the promised experience—I see no reason why they shouldn’t—these Buds Pro will set a high bar for expectations and value.

Everything has been tuned keeping in mind ease of use and intelligent adaptability, starting with the pairing experience with other OnePlus devices. If it works as advertised, one can expect to simply open the case and pair the earbuds with your OnePlus smartphone instantly and seamlessly, and the audio can be tuned to your liking .

Once added, you should be good to go. An Adaptive Active Noise Canceling (ANC) mode will clearly hear your surroundings and customize the intensity to match your environment. This simplifies the experience for the user, and Smart ANC can improve battery life by consuming less power in a quiet environment. And it’s not just ANC, you’re getting wind and ambient noise-reduction when using the Buds Pro for Call.

The promise of a hassle-free listening experience also extends to battery life and charging. With the case, OnePlus says you can expect a playtime of 38 hours with ANC off and 28 hours with ANC off. Additionally, proprietary Warp Charge technology gives you 10 hours in just 10 minutes, not to mention support for Qi wireless charging, and the ability to use your 9 Pro as a charger for the case. enjoys playtime. Whether you’re on a long flight or forgot to charge your earbuds at night, it’s the small, quality-of-life features that help set the devices apart.

The design of Buds Pro is really interesting. The two-tone finish sets them apart from the competition, and the squeeze-to-trigger stems are a nice upgrade, I think, from the more traditional tap-to-trigger interface. Using touch-sensitive surfaces can be frustrating if you’re the type who keeps adjusting your earbuds or wears gloves.

For those who care about the listening experience, the Hemelody app has a nifty trick called AudioID to manage the Buds’ features. Essentially, you plug the OnePlusBuds Pro into your ears and trigger the AudioID feature. A specially selected track is played and the microphones help map the response of your ears, creating a custom profile for your ears. Assuming that things go according to plan, Set will then enable a custom equalizer profile that should provide a better aural experience.

Of course, you can still change the settings and controls manually if you feel like it.

OnePlus, hopefully, will deliver on its promises, and if it does, the Buds Pro is likely to be the benchmark by which other TWS sets are judged.
