SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which released last Friday, has received an overwhelming response from the audience as well as the critics. Rajamouli’s latest film RRR has also set the cash counters ringing. And now that he is done with his stellar work with Ram Charan and Jr NTR, the buzz has begun for Rajamouli’s next film, which will feature Mahesh Babu. There are many speculations about the genre of the film.
There was buzz that Rajamouli’s next film would be a multi-starrer. However, the director has denied such rumours. The yet-to-be-titled project will feature Mahesh Babu in the lead role and will be a single-hero film opposite RRR, which starred Jr NTR and Ram Charan. Mahesh Babu does only solo-hero projects and the distributors are fine with it. This is because his films eventually turn out to be profits.
The Rajamouli-Babu project will be a fast-paced adventure-thriller. SS Rajamouli is trying to change his track after three back-to-back costume dramas set in the distant past. Interestingly, Sanjay Leela Bhansali also decided to change his style after three consecutive period films.
Bollywood Hungama has reported that the idea of this untitled project is still in the works. It further added that after the release of RRR, SS Rajamouli will give his full attention to the project with Mahesh Babu.
The Rajamouli-Babu project will be completed in six months, unlike Baahubali and RRR, which took several years. Rajamouli is keen to start shooting for the film from Dussehra 2022.
Rajamouli also said that the film will be on a bigger scale than RRR. KL Narayan will produce this mega project.
