With BJP’s victory in 4 states and elections approaching in Gujarat, PM Modi holds 3 road shows in his home state in 2 days

On the second day of his visit to his home state of Gujarat, where elections are due in December this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held two road shows – one in Gandhinagar district and another in Ahmedabad on the way to the Sardar Patel Stadium where he inaugurated. The state’s major sporting event, Khel Mahakumbh. A day after the BJP won elections in four of the five states, including politically important Uttar Pradesh and three others, Modi on Friday held a roadshow from the Ahmedabad airport to the BJP headquarters ‘Kamalam’ in Gandhinagar.

The prime minister is seen holding three road shows in two days in Gujarat, virtually taking BJP workers into election mode. On Saturday evening, Modi held a roadshow covering a distance of 3.5 km between Indira Bridge and Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad, in which people and BJP workers cheered.

Earlier in the day, Modi inaugurated a 12-km roadshow between the National Defense University (RRU) in Dehgam town and Lavad village in Gandhinagar district, where he attended the first convocation as the chief guest. On the way, Modi shook hands and greeted a large number of people standing on both sides of the road. He greeted people in an open jeep, accompanied by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Unlike in the morning, in the evening roadshow, the Prime Minister sat in a closed jeep. His vehicle surrounded by security personnel slowly moved forward and Modi accepted and greeted the people. With people chanting his name, Modi got down from his vehicle at several places and greeted people.

While the security personnel formed a human chain around Modi to control the enthusiastic crowd, many people pushed on their mobile phones to get their image closer. Before attending the Dehgam road show, Modi had left the Raj Bhavan in a car and shifted to an open jeep on reaching Dehgam.

During that roadshow, a crowd of people gathered to greet the PM on the way and he was welcomed with wreaths and flower petals. The road show continued till the university. Assembly elections are due this December in Gujarat, which has been an unbroken stronghold of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since 1988. Modi had served as the chief minister of the state before becoming prime minister for the first time in 2014.
