Wipro Q2 net profit up nearly 18%; Revenue up 30% – Times of India

New Delhi: IT services major Wipro on Wednesday reported a 17 per cent jump in its consolidated net profit for the second quarter ended September 30.
The company posted a net profit of Rs 2,930.6 crore, a growth of 17.9 per cent as compared to a profit of Rs 2,484.3 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
However, in terms of quarterly results, the IT firm posted a loss of 9.6 per cent. The contraction was primarily due to wage increases and amortization charges on the Capco acquisition.
Wipro had reported a profit of Rs 3,242.6 crore in the previous quarter.
Wipro’s consolidated revenue grew nearly 30 per cent to Rs 19,667.4 crore during the quarter as against Rs 15,114.5 crore recorded in the same quarter of 2020-21.
Whereas, sequentially, the growth in gross revenue increased by 7.6 per cent to Rs 19,761 crore.
“Q2 results demonstrate that our business strategy is working well. We grew organic sequential growth of over 4.5 percent for the second consecutive quarter, resulting in 28 percent growth in the first half of this fiscal year. I We thank Wipro CEO and MD Thierry Delaporte in a statement, saying, “Our customers, partners and associates have crossed the USD 10 billion milestone of annual revenue run rate.”
