Windows 11 Start menu and taskbar get new features with latest update – Times of India

Microsoft has started windows 11 update For users who are enrolled in K Dev channel windows indoor program. Build 22509 comes the same week that the company released a new UI and design for the Paint app. With the latest update, the company has added new features and improvements to the Start menu and taskbar. The update also fixes some bugs that were reported by users over the past several weeks.
After installing the latest build, users can right-click on Start to quickly access Start settings and “More Pins” or “More Recommendations” layout options to show an additional row of pins or recommendations, respectively can choose.
If a secondary monitor is connected, the clock and date will now also be displayed on the secondary monitor or monitor’s taskbar after the update. Previously, the clock and date were visible only on the primary monitor. According to the company, the change is not yet available to all insiders as it plans to monitor the feedback and see how it lands before rolling it out to everyone.
Another feature that the company will gradually introduce to all insiders is high priority notifications. For apps that take advantage of Windows notifications in the OS to send notifications for calls, reminders or alarms, 3 high priority notifications will now be shown as stacked and shown at the same time. This means that at any given time, users can see up to 4 notifications at the same time – 3 high priority notifications and one normal priority notification.
The company has also announced some changes in the Settings app. With the update, the company has moved advanced sharing settings such as network discovery, file and printer sharing, and public folder sharing to a new page in the Settings app under Advanced network settings.
The OS will now also remember if a user turns on Bluetooth or Wi-Fi in Airplane Mode. The next time they use Airplane Mode, the radio will reflect their preference and the headphones will be on to make listening easier and staying connected on the go. As of now, the features are limited to users who are enrolled in the Windows Insider Program’s dev channel, but the company is expected to roll them out to all users in an upcoming update.
