The BJP on Tuesday hit out at the Trinamool Congress for not taking action against its MP Mahua Moitra and asked whether the party would suspend her.
The BJP also claimed that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s silence on Moitra’s remarks has angered Hindu Bengalis inside and outside the state.
Sharing a video, West Bengal BJP co-in-charge Amit Malviya tweeted, “Today, BJP’s LOP Suvendu Adhikari in West Bengal led a massive march in Krishnanagar, represented by TMC MPs whose mother Kali And there is an unpleasant portrayal of Mamata Banerjee’s silence. This has angered Hindu Bengalis, both within and outside West Bengal. When will TMC suspend Moitra?

Referring to the Prime Minister’s speech, Malviya had tweeted, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaks reverently about being the center of devotion of Maa Kali for not only Bengal but for the whole of India. On the other hand, a TMC MP insulted Maa Kali, and Mamata Banerjee Instead of acting against him, she defends her obnoxious portrayal of Maa Kali. ,
“Under Mamata Banerjee’s public rebuke, TMC MPs are using repeated defiance on the issue of Maa Kali to humiliate her, lowering her stature as a leader, knowing full well that Fearing that she will not be able to take action against them, angering her Muslim vote bank,” Malviya had said.
Responding to a question on a controversial film poster, which featured a woman smoking as Goddess Kali, Moitra said that “for him Kali Devi is a meat-eater and a wine-accepter”.
