Will join Sachin Tendulkar and Don Bradman till they retire.

When Virat Kohli lost his captaincy, fans thought it would benefit him in the upcoming IPL 2022. Some of them were confident that he would play without any burden as his captaincy had already been taken away from him. Unburdened, he could be the Kohli of the past. However, they were wrong. Kohli’s form fell further as he scored 341 runs throughout the season. As soon as the team landed in England, where they were expected to play one-sided Tests, Kohli’s form took a hit. Although he scored a half-century in the practice match, he could not convert it into a big one at Edgbaston.

Though there are people who think that Kohli’s form is gone forever, but former cricketers feel that he can still make a comeback. Earlier, Virender Sehwag had also said that Kohli can come back from all this. And now former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif has also repeated the same.

“I believe, he will be back. I have some hopes. World cricket needs him. Because of the way he plays. In the same match at Edgbaston, he went and fought a fight. Pangaye lette hai full, kabhi leech Se le liya, kabhi root se liya. So it is a positive sign that he will definitely be back,” Latif said on YouTube channel ‘Caught Behind’.

He quoted how Kohli seemed to echo as he fully backed his bowlers. Latif said that his positive body language is proof that he will be back soon.

“Because he is a team man and he supports his players well. And the way he supports them, hope he comes back.”

He said that by the time he retires, he will be counted among the greats like Sachin Tendulkar and possibly Sir Don Bradman.

“These things happen in every player’s life. When he quits cricket his name will be the equivalent of Sachin Tendulkar. Who knows this ‘Sir’ can be the equivalent of Don Bradman”
