Bommai said during an election rally, “I will come back as chief minister again. God has given me this opportunity to serve mother Karnataka. I have worked honestly.”

Citing Lingayat sect founder Basaveshwara and praising his government’s development agenda, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said he will return to power after the May assembly elections.

Addressing a public meeting at Hunagund in north Karnataka’s Bagalkot district on Tuesday night, the chief minister said he has worked sincerely to provide social justice to every section of the society, resulting in an increase of Rs 1 lakh in per capita annual income Is. last four years.

“I will come back as the chief minister again. God has given me an opportunity to serve Mother Karnataka. I have worked honestly,” Bommai said during an election rally.

The chief minister said he was following the path of “work is worship” and social equality espoused by Basaveshwara, the 12th century social reformer and founder of the Lingayat sect.

“I tried to give social justice to every section of the society. People had demanded corporations of different communities for their overall development. Bommai said, we are following the path shown by Basaveshwara.

The chief minister, who belongs to the Lingayat community, invoked the name of Basaveshwara, who has a sizeable following in Karnataka, especially in the northern part of the state.

Bommai said that the major parameter of development in Karnataka is per capita income in the state, which has increased significantly.

“Before our government came to power, the per capita income in Karnataka was Rs 2.42 lakh per annum, which has now increased to Rs 3.47 lakh, which is more than one lakh. This is despite the COVID situation. This shows that we have made development in the midst of the COVID pandemic,” the chief minister said.

He claimed that Karnataka has become the number one spot in investment and innovation because of the state government’s initiatives in the last four years since the BJP came to power.

According to Bommai, the state had received an investment of Rs 12 lakh crore during the Global Investors Meet held last year.

He appealed to the people to elect BJP if they want to see the state marching on the path of development.

The chief minister also hit out at Congress veteran Siddaramaiah for lying to the people, alleging that he had reduced the quantity of rice given to the poor from 10 kg to 5 kg in 2012, when the BJP was in power.
