Why is the result bad? Meeting with BJP state leaders of central leadership

BJP is defeated in Ekushi’s Kolkata Pre-poll. Out of 144 wards, only 2 wards came from BJP. Pre-poll results show that the party’s condition is much higher than what the BJP got in the Ekushi assembly election. In the Ekushi assembly elections, BJP came second in most of the seats in Kolkata Pur. But, in just 6 months, the equation got completely reversed. According to the results, the BJP is lagging behind the Congress and the Left parties in the wards included in the three assembly seats of Kolkata. That is, the main opposition party of the state is in fourth place. The central leadership cannot accept such a downfall of the BJP.

Why such results in municipal elections? BJP state leaders were called to Delhi to find out. On Thursday, the central leaders held a meeting with the party’s state president Sukanta Majumdar and All India Vice President Dilip Ghosh regarding the BJP’s results and the party’s performance in the Kolkata city elections. The meeting was attended by central level leaders like BL Santosh, Shiv Prakash, All India General Secretary of the party. Apart from all these issues, the next steps of the party were also discussed in today’s meeting.

The BJP, the main opposition party in the state, got only 9 per cent votes, while the Left got 12 per cent votes. After the announcement of candidates in the by-election, factionalism in the BJP has intensified. However, it has intensified after the announcement of the general election results. However, the BJP state leadership has blamed the ruling party for the poor results in the bypolls. According to him, the way Trinamool had voted for Chappa, it was not possible for the opposition to get more seats. The BJP office was vacant due to this fear on the day of election results. No one was seen except the security guard.
