The Central Council for Health and Family Welfare (CCHFW) has rejected the World Health Organization (WHO) report on deaths due to corona in India. In the ongoing three-day (May 5 to 7) health camp in Kevadiya, Gujarat, the ministers said – ‘WHO has presented its report in a baseless manner without any scientific evidence and rationale. The figures given in this are not actual numbers. The WHO report is an attempt to malign the image of the country, because the deaths due to corona are systematically recorded in India following a transparent and legal process.

Let us inform that in its report released on Thursday, WHO has estimated that in the last two years due to corona, there have been 15 million deaths in the world and 47 lakh in India. The official figure of deaths due to corona in the world is 62 lakh and in India a little more than five lakh.

Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar said that every death in India is recorded in the most authentic way. WHO has presented its report in a baseless manner without any scientific evidence and rationale. The figures given in this are not actual numbers. In India, this report has been criticized as wrong on many levels. The Health Minister said, ‘We stand by our numbers, because India has presented its figures to the country and the world on a scientific basis only.
