Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has proved that when it comes to cop drama Bollywood And action movies full of entertainment, it’s hard to top them. Now, reports suggest that the director is bringing his cop drama magic to the OTT space as he is all set to helm a web series on Amazon Prime Video. As per a report in Midday, the Singham director will be backing his first digital web series, which will be helmed by his assistant Sushant Prakash.
Not only this, reports also suggest that the director is currently in talks with three of Bollywood’s most popular faces- Vicky Kaushal, Sidharth Malhotra and Tiger Shroff to play the lead roles in the series. It is said to be spread over eight episodes.
As per a source quoted by the daily, “He is Rohit’s top choice for the role as the material demands an actor who specializes in action. If all goes well, the action will be rolled out by December. Although it is OTT. It marks Rohit’s entry into the world of cinema but he is in no hurry to announce it and will probably do so only after the release date of Sooryavanshi is fixed.”
The release of Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif got delayed due to the pandemic. Last month, Akshay informed that the film should ideally hit the theaters by September or October, now with the easing of Covid-19 restrictions across the country, the theaters have started gradually reopening. The film is yet to get its final release date.

Starring Ranveer Singh, Sooryavanshi is the fourth film in Shetty’s cop universe, after Ajay Devgn-starrer Singham, Singham Returns and Simmba. It will be interesting to see whether the new Cop web series lives up to the popularity and fan following of his previous films.
