Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has praised social worker Srishti Bakshi. Priyanka said that Srishti is a brave woman who is fighting with all her strength against cruelty against women. He marched on foot from Kashmir to Kanyakumari to empower women.

Priyanka Chopra tweeted, ‘Meet these brave women who are on a mission to end violence against women. In hopes of creating safe public spaces for women across India, she has traveled more than 2300 miles to educate and empower.’

2,300 miles of walking tour across the country
Srishti Bakshi is on a mission to end violence against women in India. After meeting more than 100,000 women on a 2,300-mile walking tour across the country, Bakshi had made a documentary, WOMB: Women of My Billion, a touching and heartwarming film. The film discusses the social and political challenges faced by women.

Srishti Bakshi says that there are 60 crore women in India. Yet they are rarely seen outside after sunset due to harassment and security concerns. She also ran a driving training program to empower women. Bakshi says, ‘The more the numbers in public places, the more confidence they will get.’

Srishti, associated with the marketing profession, has been vocal about women’s rights. Whenever she reads, saw and hears about attacks on women, she is shaken. She was really shaken when she read about the Highway 91 rape case in India and decided to do something about it. In a conversation with The Hindu, he had said that we live in a society that cares only for itself. We do not speak anything until we ourselves are in the grip of some crisis.

Bakshi has created MOWO Fleet which trains women as delivery drivers and on-demand taxi operators. Women can call a motorbike taxi or auto-rickshaw – driven by a woman – and reduce their fear of sexual violence.

Bakshi was awarded the Commonwealth Points of Light Award for India by Queen Elizabeth II. She was named the United Nations Women’s Empowerment Women’s Champion for Change. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
