Who Is ‘Sholay Girl’ Reshma Pathan? India’s Best Dancer Season 3 Honours Country’s First Stuntwoman

New Delhi: This weekend, the makers of ‘India’s Best Dancer 3’ will celebrate ‘110 years of cinema, unmatched’. Paying tribute to the incredible journey of Indian cinema, the contestants, along with their choreographers, will perform exceptionally well to the tunes of legends like Raj Kapoor, Kishore Kumar, Shammi Kapoor, RD Burman, Amitabh Bachchan, Bollywood’s most iconic jodis like Dharmendra. and Hema Malini, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh among others. Adding an extra dose of entertainment to the procession will be ace filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan, who has been an integral part of Indian cinema over the years!

The show honored those who usually stay behind the scenes and contribute to the huge success of the film industry, such as Manoj Desai – Executive Director of G7 Multiplex and Maratha Mandir Cinema, Ranjit Dahiya – Bollywood Art Project and Reshma Pathan – the first stuntwoman of the Indian film industry.


Meet Reshma Pathan – India’s first stuntwoman

A woman of invincible strength and unbreakable spirit – Reshma Pathan is India’s first successful stunt woman, having performed thousands of nerve-wracking stunts in nearly 400 films in nearly 400 languages. The ‘Sholay girl’, whose journey in Indian cinema has been truly inspiring, shared, “At that time, my home situation was not so good, I had many siblings, and my father was really ill, so I Somehow earn for the family. One day I was lounging on the streets and Azim Bhai saw me and when everyone was giving me some money, he gave me 2 rupees. I told him that I don’t have money And he told me to keep the money. He also came to my house, met my father, and talked to him to let me enter the industry. My father was not okay with it, but I persuaded him a lot and agreed to act as a stunt woman. I entered the industry as an actor. The industry has given me a lot and it is because of my hard work and your love that I am standing where I am today. I am really grateful.’


She also mentioned that the stunt she did in Sholay was the most challenging stunt she has ever done. But, despite many injuries, she kept on walking. The judges will also be shocked to know that 69 year old Reshma Pathan is working in the industry.

Reshma Pathan will also replace host Jay Bhanushali in her muse as she shows off some stunts with him, giving the viewers a quick glimpse of everything she does as a stunt person.
