The Shiromani Akali Dal leader told News18 that the Center should intervene if the state government fails to control the law and order situation.

Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia feels a “fixed match” is being played between Khalistani separatist Amritpal Singh and the Punjab Police. In an exclusive chat with CNN-News18, the former state minister expressed his apprehension about the ongoing furore in Punjab. And scolded the administration for not taking action against Amritpal.

“First you have to realize that if you go back to those dark days of terrorism in history, there has never been an incident where a police station was captured by people breaking the law. It never happened. If such news comes from Kashmir then there is so much hue and cry. Obviously all is not well in the state. Now for a DGP to say that we did not do this because there were some reasons, my first question is whether any It was a fixed match. For the last five days he was threatening that he would go to Ajnala police station, so where was the police? Were the DGPs sleeping or were they stopped by their rulers that they did not act?” He asked.

Majithia said that the government has come out with a direction that a case will be registered against anyone seen with a weapon on social media platforms or firing from his legal weapon. “There was a small boy from my constituency in Majithia whose ten year old photographs were taken out and he was booked. The boy was booked for possession of arms. My question to the DGP is how is a person roaming around with a weapon? That too 25 cartridges are allowed for a weapon, they are roaming around with 300-400 cartridges on themselves and talking to the SSP pointing to the police chief of the district. Is this state not managed? Is it not a fixed match? Is it not to divert attention? the SAD leader asked.

Majithia said that Punjab has a long history of being a border state and border security issues, and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann himself has said that Pakistan is promoting terrorism. In such a situation, do you want another Hindu-Sikh issue to emerge from Punjab? The police have been attacked with rocket launchers. There have been riots in Patiala. Sidhu Moose Wala has been murdered. As I speak, there have been three murders today. These gangsters are claiming that they have done this. How can you allow all this to happen in Punjab?” He said.

Majithia also rejected comparisons between Amritpal Singh and Sikh separatist leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

“If people can be booked on display of weapons, then someone can carry 20 weapons, that too semi-automatic…Who gave him the license in the first place? How is he taking them across Punjab? I want to check it. How is this allowed? Have you ever heard… isn’t it a constitutional crisis, that a police station has been occupied… He tries to imitate Jarnail Singh, but he is not him. That’s a duplicate. That is a farce. He has created There are reasons for this. This is a total collapse. He traveled 60 km, but the police did nothing. were they sleeping? There are more than 15 police stations in the entire area and yet they were given a free hand. Why wouldn’t I say it was a fixed match?” he said.

Majithia also alleged that the founder of Waris Punjab D has been supported. “I disagree with the statement that he is popular. Yes, there is a section in Punjab which feels that injustice has been done to them on many issues, from the state capital to river water issue and farm laws, many issues Let’s leave this aside… A clean man becomes a baptist, there are pictures of him enjoying, clubbing and partying. Then he uses the Guru Granth Sahib… You should feel that this is the living guru for us. Guru is respected and respected by folding hands and politely. If two children were fighting, then file a case first you investigate the matter. Would you be a guru for such a fight? Use the Granth Sahib? You won’t. You can’t go breaking barricades and killing unarmed people. This man doesn’t understand Sikhism. Sikhism is all about humility and love and compassion,” he said.

The Akali Dal leader asked who benefits from polarization in Punjab.

“Many people are gunning for me. If there is polarization in Punjab then who will benefit? You yourself will know. Bhagwant Maan…he doesn’t realize whether he is playing with fire or all this will ultimately spell trouble for Punjab days. This is not going to end well. A man who was not even an Indian citizen, who was baptized, how can he come here today and be funded… his family has a few acres Had land. Today he moves around in cars worth Rs 2 crore. How is everyone turning a blind eye to this? I question all governments because it pains me and I don’t want those dark days to return.

Majithia also said that if the state government fails to control the law and order situation, the Center should intervene.

“Governments are responsible. Both governments are responsible. Maintaining peace and law and order is the primary responsibility of the government, but if the state government is not doing its job, I think the central government should also intervene. But they want you to be maligned and then polarised. “he said. There will be a lot of politics and all this will affect the state and its people. Do you know, 45 percent of hotel bookings were canceled and that affects a lot of lives? If religious tourism was doing well, So you have this in mind… You have made sure it goes for the toss. It pains me and that’s why I am speaking and I know people will take a shot at my head as well.”
