The Shiromani Akali Dal leader told News18 that the Center should intervene if the state government fails to control the law and order situation.
Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia feels a “fixed match” is being played between Khalistani separatist Amritpal Singh and the Punjab Police. In an exclusive chat with CNN-News18, the former state minister expressed his apprehension about the ongoing furore in Punjab. And scolded the administration for not taking action against Amritpal.
“First you have to realize that if you go back to those dark days of terrorism in history, there has never been an incident where a police station was captured by people breaking the law. It never happened. If such news comes from Kashmir then there is so much hue and cry. Obviously all is not well in the state. Now for a DGP to say that we did not do this because there were some reasons, my first question is whether any It was a fixed match. For the last five days he was threatening that he would go to Ajnala police station, so where was the police? Were the DGPs sleeping or were they stopped by their rulers that they did not act?” He asked.
Majithia said that the government has come out with a direction that a case will be registered against anyone seen with a weapon on social media platforms or firing from his legal weapon. “There was a small boy from my constituency in Majithia whose ten year old photographs were taken out and he was booked. The boy was booked for possession of arms. My question to the DGP is how is a person roaming around with a weapon? Majithia also rejected comparisons between Amritpal Singh and Sikh separatist leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

I want to check it. How is this allowed? Have you ever heard… isn’t it a constitutional crisis, that a police station has been occupied… He tries to imitate Jarnail Singh, but he is not him. Majithia also alleged that the founder of Waris Punjab D has been supported. “I disagree with the statement that he is popular. The Akali Dal leader asked who benefits from polarization in Punjab.

Majithia also said that if the state government fails to control the law and order situation, the Center should intervene.
“Governments are responsible. Both governments are responsible. Maintaining peace and law and order is the primary responsibility of the government, but if the state government is not doing its job, I think the central government should also intervene.
