Mahant Govind Das gave an open challenge
Mahant Govind Das of Kishkinda has openly challenged the claim that Kishkinda in Karnataka is the birthplace of Lord Hanumandas, to debate the issue. Das has refuted the claim that Lord Hanuman was born in Anjaneri, Maharashtra, citing Valmiki Ramayana.

Valmiki Ramayana cited
Mahant Govind Das reached Trimbakeshwar on Sunday carrying a chariot, where he would discuss with the saints in Nashik regarding the birthplace of Lord Hanuman based on scriptures. He said that Maharishi Valmiki has nowhere written in Ramayana that Hanuman ji was born in Anjaneri. The place of birth always remains the same and nowhere is it written that Lord Hanuman was born in Anjaneri, Nashik.

Police issued notice
In view of the Parliament of Religions to be held on May 31, the Nashik Police has issued notices to the organizers to maintain law and order.

This belief is related to Anjaneri
Anjaneri is one of the forts built in the mountains of Nashik-Trimbakeshwar. Which is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. Anjaneri is 20 km from Nashik on Trimbak road. It is named after Anjani, the mother of Hanuman. There is a temple of Anjani Mata with Hanuman ji on Anjaneri hill. It is said that Hanumanji was born on this mountain.
