On 15 March 2020, Akhilesh Yadav was answering questions from journalists in Lucknow. He said, ‘While going to Delhi, a person in the plane saw my hand. He said work hard, 350 seats will come.
This was not the first time, when a person who had been a CM during the election was referring to the prediction of astrology. In fact, astrologers have blown a lot of mantras in the leader-city of UP.
This story starts from 1976…
There was an emergency in the country. Ram Prakash Gupta, a leader from the Jyotish family in Mirzapur jail, started seeing the hand of a 24-year-old boy. He was also imprisoned in the affair of Netagiri. After seeing the hand for a while, Ram Prakash said, ‘You will become the CM of UP one day.’
Hearing the words of Ram Prakash, the prisoners sitting around started laughing. But 25 years later, on 28 October 2000, that prediction came true. That boy was the new CM of UP, the name was Rajnath Singh.
After that Rajnath Singh had complete faith in astrology. However, back to our UP story…
Astrology rings in 2012
Pt. Aseemanand of Prayagraj said on March 3, 2012, ‘SP is forming the government.’ After him, Pandits from Lucknow to Varanasi started saying the same thing. Only Rameshdhar Dubey of Prayagraj, seeing the planetary constellation, said that there will be an alliance of BSP and BJP. He got the support of only a few astrologers. When the result came, the astrologers of UP were shocked. SP had got 224 seats. People were convinced that astrologers could predict the correct election results in advance.
…but in 2017 the wind of astrologers went out
The head of the Kashi Jyotish Vidushi Parishad predicted, ‘Akhilesh is forming the government.’ Sonali Dixit, the astrologer of the same council said, ‘Mayawati has Mahadasha of Buddha, she is becoming CM for the 5th time.’
Renowned astrologer Vimal Jain said, ‘All the surveys will be left behind. Even a hung government will not be formed easily in UP. The predictions of astrologers Dr. Abha Yagyaseni, Anjali Soni and Swati Barnwal were also saying the same, but when the result came, BJP took 312 seats alone. Not a single astrologer had said this. Nor did anyone take the name of Yogi Adityanath for CM.
Nirmal Baba and Sathya Sai have done the right thing
Vidya Sagar, who has studied astrology from BHU, said, ‘Ever since Nirmal Baba started eliminating people’s problems with green chutney and samosas on TV, this learning became a joke.’
He said, ‘Satya Sai Baba was there, who used to move the hands and take out the clock. Actually these people were magicians, but established themselves as astrologers. People considered Nirmal Baba and Sathya Sai to be astrologers. Then the trust went down.
However, even now astrologers have not given up…
This time no astrologer is discussing predictions even after Akhilesh’s advice. There is a solid reason behind this. As much astrology as predictions. Let’s go through it one by one…

On the other hand, Ashish Pathak, an expert in the Ravan Samhita, says that the good days of the BJP have passed. After the victory of 2019, the movement of the planets has changed. BJP will be disappointed in UP.
Mayawati is also not out of race in astrology
Most of the astrologers are telling Mayawati out of the fight. According to Moradabad’s Pt. Pankaj Shukla, BSP will get the deciding seat. That seat will prove helpful in forming the government.
