Australian batsman David Warner has arrived in India to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. After a successful Test series against Pakistan, which Australia won 1-0, he has joined the Delhi Capitals camp in Mumbai.
His addition will boost the top order of the team which has struggled to give a good start in the tournament so far. In David Warner’s absence, Tim Seifert teamed up with Prithvi Shaw in DC’s last two encounters against Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans. However, the opening pair shared 30 and 8 partnerships respectively.

Warner on Sunday shared a picture of the Gateway of India on social media. In the caption, he wrote, ‘Can you guess where I am now?’
Meanwhile, head coach Ricky Ponting is hoping that Warner and Mitchell Marsh, who are battling a hip injury, will join the squad soon.
Addressing a press conference after the 14-run loss to Gujarat Titans on Saturday, the former Australia captain said, “David Warner has come to Mumbai. I believe he left early yesterday morning so he should be there when we get back to Mumbai tonight. Mitchell Marsh has been in Mumbai for a few days, apparently getting himself quarantined. I think he might actually be out of quarantine tomorrow. ,

“We are expecting that he (Marsh) is going to be available for the game (against Kolkata Knight Riders) on the 10th. He picked up that mild flexor strain of the hip in Pakistan. So, we need some good training sessions for him and obviously before he is available for selection.
“But fingers crossed, Davey should be up for the next game and Mitch Marsh for the game,” he said.
The Rishabh Pant-led DC will lock horns with the Lucknow Super Giants in their next match at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on April 7.
