In a recent interview, Ranjeet candidly shared the difficulties he faced when his daughter was misunderstood due to his onscreen image. The actor, happily married to Aloka Bedi, shared the steps he took to tackle the situation. The couple are proud parents of two children, daughter Divyanka Bedi and son Chiranjeev.
During an interview with ETimes, Ranjeet talked about the challenges he faced due to his onscreen image. The actor revealed that this misunderstanding, particularly when he was with his daughter, Divyanka Bedi, embarrassed him.
Recalling an incident, Ranjeet detailed how, while dining at a restaurant with Divyanka, people commented and assumed he was accompanied by young girls. The actor candidly addressed the impact of such situations on his personal life.
He stated, “I used to visit my daughter when she was studying in Delhi. We would walk together in a restaurant, and people would look at me and comment, ‘How disgusting! He is going out with young girls.’ A family was sitting next to us, and the husband kept shouting at them not to look at me. It made me uncomfortable”.
Ranjeet handled the situation with grace. When the waiter approached him, he made it clear that he was with his daughter, Divyanka, by announcing it loudly. Ranjeet highlighted how his on-screen persona has left a negative perception on people.
“When the waiter arrived to take the food order, I loudly mentioned, Arey beti lekar aayi hai, ussey poocho. Following this, the same person requested a picture with me for his wife. I often struggle with such situations where I have to clarify that I don’t go out with “call girls”.
