Amitabh Bachchan, who suffered an injury on the sets of Project K, was involved in a fatal accident while filming Coolie, when the entire nation prayed for his recovery.
bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan Injured himself during the shooting of his upcoming film Project K. The actor shared the health update through his blog. But this is not the first time that the veteran actor has suffered an injury while shooting for a film. Everyone clearly remembers the time when he narrowly escaped death on the sets of the 1983 film Coolie.
While shooting for a fight scene with Puneet Issar’s on-screen character Bob, Amitabh Bachchan’s character Iqbal, who was supposed to fall on the table, landed in the corner, causing him to faint on Manmohan Desai’s set. The actor was declared dead for two minutes, after which he had to undergo multiple surgeries. For almost two months, the actor fought a tough battle and the entire nation prayed for his recovery. The actor once recalled the whole experience in an interview with Stardust.
Bachchan had shared, “Look, I never knew I was going to die. I knew something was very wrong with me but I never knew I was going to die. And the whole period when I was seemingly gone, when I was fighting for life, I was in a state of coma. I was unconscious. It was a difficult time for my family. It was easy for me because I was clueless. After my recovery, a difficult period began for me. When you are told what you are going through. And it’s not enough that you’ve been told.
He further said, “The worst phase is when you come to know that whatever he has said is actually true. Your whole body is depleted from within. You are in full bloom, you are healthy and You are full of life and enthusiasm. And suddenly it turns out that the body is not there. You cannot move your fingers. Your legs cannot support you. And your whole system is battered. But you know it is there. Was. It was there the other day. How is it not working? It was a terrible time.”
Last year, the makers of Project K had released the first look of Amitabh Bachchan from the film. The post called Amitabh Bachchan an “entertainment powerhouse for over 5 decades”. The caption of the tweet read: “Can’t wait to show the world the new avatar you’ve got this time. Here’s to the 80th and many more!
