WhatsApp for Android and iOS keeps on making changes every day. This time WhatsApp is developing a new app for Mac OS and Windows users. The WABetaInfo portal, which gives information about the update of WhatsApp features, has quoted Italian blogger Agiornamenti Lumia as saying that WhatsApp is developing new apps for Windows users.
The section looks like a Skype app
It will be an app based on Universal Windows Platform. This will be for all versions of both operating systems. The app that WhatsApp is developing for Windows and Mac will also include drawing features on devices with touch screen displays. The Accounts, Chats, Notifications, Storage and Help sections of this app look like Skype, with 6 categories of settings. Apart from this, it is being told that the new version of WhatsApp for Mac OS will be like the iPadOS version which was seen recently.
WhatsApp is also working on last seen status
The beta version of WhatsApp for Android now has an option to hide your last seen status from specific people. The report states that WhatsApp has been actively working on bringing this feature for a few months and it is now live for a subset of those part of the beta program.
The company may soon bring it to everyone who uses the beta. After this it will be updated for all WhatsApp users. This feature will not allow WhatsApp users to view the last seen status by everyone, except their contacts, blacklist of specific people of their contacts and no one else.
Community feature is also being worked on
Meanwhile, a report states that WhatsApp is also working on a new community feature that will give admins more power over the group. According to the report, the community feature gives group admins more power over the group.
The new feature is expected to offer admins the ability to invite new users through a community invite link and then send messages to other members. This feature has been seen in the latest beta version version 188.8.131.52 of WhatsApp. The messaging app itself is expected to have a social media-like function similar to that of a Facebook group.
