Check Bank Balance on WhatsApp: In today’s digital-first approach that the world is following, it has become quite common to check your bank balance whenever you want. However, traditionally, a particular bank has to have a mobile application or login to their website to check bank balance. This applies to all banks. However, as technology advances, these systems become easier everyday. With the Unified Payment Interface or UPI, this process has become even easier, allowing customers of any bank to check their bank balance and other details in a matter of seconds and clicks.

WhatsApp, the online messaging platform used by millions of people in the country, recently launched the payment method in India. Hence, WhatsApp users who have registered for WhatsApp Pay service will be able to check their bank balance.

WhatsApp Pay, an in-chat payment service, works just like any other UPI services like Google Pay and PhonePe. WhatsApp Pay was launched in India in February 2018 as a trial run. “We are excited and privileged to partner with State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and Axis Bank to bring simple and secure digital payments to WhatsApp users across India. So, like every other UPI service, if you have registered for WhatsApp Pay, you can now check your bank account balance on WhatsApp.

Here’s how to check bank balance on WhatsApp

Method A:

Step 1: Click on WhatsApp on your mobile phone and go to the app. Tap on the three dots in the top right corner of your screen and go to Settings. tap on

Step 2: After that go to the Payments option. Now select the respective bank account where you want to check your balance

Step 3: Click on View Account Balance option

Step 4: UPI payment methods are secure and hence you need to enter your PIN after that

Step 5: Your account balance will be displayed after you have entered your PIN

Method B:

Here, you can check your balance while sending money to other accounts as well. Follow these steps to learn how to do it:

Step 1: From the payment notification screen on the WhatsApp application, click on your preferred payment method

Step 2: Now, Click on View Account Balance Option

Step 3: If you have multiple bank accounts registered with WhatsApp Pay feature, select the respective account whose balance you want to know

Step 4: Enter your UPI PIN

Step 5: Your bank balance will be displayed on the WhatsApp app screen

Although the bank balance check methods on WhastApp Pay are largely similar to Google Pay, PhonePe or other UPI apps, the main difference is that the user does not need to download a separate app to use the UPI feature. However, if you wish to set up a UPI account on WhatsApp, you will need to accept the terms and conditions relating to the Privacy Policy. Your WhatsApp number should be linked to your respective bank account when you are making the payment to ensure faster processing. To facilitate payments, it is also advisable to have the latest version of WhatsApp.
