WhatsApp new update: Users will soon be able to hide profile picture from selected contacts

Currently, we have options to hide our profile pictures from ‘Everyone’, ‘All Contacts’ and ‘None’. Now, WhatsApp will bring up another option in the list.

New feature not yet available

According to the latest report by WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo, the company is coming up with an option that will allow users to hide their profile pictures from selected contacts. The company has not yet introduced this feature in the app.

Currently, users can choose from 3 options

Once this update is available, you will be able to select the option to ‘Exclude my contacts’ in the profile picture settings. This will let you select specific contacts who will be able to see your profile picture. For privacy options, the company currently offers three settings – ‘Everyone’, ‘My Contacts’ and ‘Nobody’.

Available for Android users

According to the report of WABetaInfo, the update from the company will be available for Android beta version 2.21.21.2. It is believed that this feature is currently available only for Android users. However, it is expected that this feature can be brought to iOS users later.
