The report states that WhatsApp users will be able to create polls for group chats. They will then be asked to enter the voting question and send it to a WhatsApp group. Both the questions and answers asked will be end-to-end encrypted.
The polls will only be available in WhatsApp groups, which means that only people in the group will be able to see the poll and its results. The Group Poll feature was seen in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iOS.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new feature for Android users. It will soon allow Android users to pause and resume voice recording. Till now this feature was available for WhatsApp users only on Apple iOS and desktop. According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has started rolling out a new beta update for Android users. After the update, Android users can also pause voice note recording on their smartphones. It will work similarly on the iOS platform as well.
Android users will be able to see a new pause button when they swipe up after pressing the recording button. Once paused, the same button will be used to resume recording. The new feature will be helpful in sharing long recordings and it will also save time for the users as they do not need to re-record the voice note in case of some interference.
