Though it has been a long time since the evergreen beauty of B-town made her Bollywood debut, Waheeda Rehman is often seen at award functions, gala events and chat shows. Recently, she was invited as a guest on Bollywood actor-producer Arbaaz Khan’s talk show, The Invincibles.

During the fun-filled conversation, the Neel Kamal actress recalled her childhood days when she used to imitate movie scenes in front of a mirror. She shared that this made her father worried about her health. When Arbaaz Khan asked him, “Have you done the film’s scenes in front of the mirror?” Waheeda nodded in agreement.

The translated version of what she replied was, “My father used to ask my mother to take care of me because he was worried that I would go insane. One day, he called me and asked why I do this , and I said that my heart wants the world to smile when I smile and cry when I cry.

Earlier, on February 23, Arbaaz Khan released a short promo video of his conversation with Waheeda Rehman. In the promo, the veteran actress also shared that early in her career, she was asked to change her name for films. Responding to the baseless instruction, Waheeda said, “Sorry, this is my name. My parents have given me this name, why should I change my name?”

She said, “I’m willing to work hard, but some things I don’t feel comfortable about, I won’t do because I won’t be able to.”

Waheeda Rehman was last seen in the 2009 film Delhi 6. Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor played the lead roles in this film. The actress recently turned 85 this month on February 3.
