A screening of Kantara will also take place at the Pathé Balexart Theater on Friday, March 17.

Kannada actor Rishabh Shetty’s last film Kantara emerged as one of the biggest hits of last year. The film not only opened to rave reviews from the critics but also managed to leave a mark in the hearts of the moviegoers. Kantara will be screened at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva on 17 March.

Filmmaker Rishab Shetty delivered his speech at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) on Thursday. The director-actor shared a series of pictures on Twitter. For the day, Rishabh opted to go for Indian ethnic by wearing a white kurta and pants with a purple Nehru coat. He complemented his look with brown boots. He also added a picture of himself outside the UN office.

“Proud to represent ECO FAWN in presenting oral statement at UNHRC. The importance of promoting cultural rights of forest dwellers and protecting forests in Kantara is understood on an international platform,” Rishabh wrote in the caption of the tweet.

The actor also released his speech along with pictures. Rishabh said that environmental sustainability is the need of the hour. As an actor and director, he aims to make an impact at the grassroots level, commented Rishabh.

“Global agencies and government organizations are at the forefront of the pursuit of environmental sustainability. In addition, civil society in India is also involved in local environmental protection. The medium of cinema holds a mirror to such environmental consciousness and helps to show the world the reality Plays an important role. The filmmaker also mentioned that his film Kantara has important elements about human life in the lap of nature, local beliefs and rituals of the people.
