What! ‘Rakesh Roshan’ lands on Moon, Mamata Banerjee congratulates the former actor

New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee while congratulating India’s space agency ISRO got confused in fim director-producer Rakesh Roshan with Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma. This doubtfulness led to a meme fest on social media.

After the incident, a video clip of Mamata Banerjee is going viral.

CM Banerjee can be seen lauding Indian scientists after Chandrayaan 3 touched the south pole of the lunar and said, ‘When last time Rakesh Roshan landed on the moon, former PM Indira Gandhi asked him how India was looking from there.’

As the video of her getting confused between Rakesh Roshan and Rakesh Sharma went viral, Mamata Banerjee and Rakesh Roshan were trending on Twitter. One such user posted a snap of ‘Jaadu’- an alien in Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Koi Mil Gaya and wrote, ‘When Rakesh Roshan landed on the moon as per Mamta Banerjee, he also took an alien from the moon.’

Meanwhile, another user tweeted, ‘Mamta didi sent Rakesh Roshan to space. These people have formed I.N.D.I.A. and aim to rule the country.’

India marked a historic move as its Chandrayaan-3 made a successful landing on Moon’s south pole on August 23, around 6:04 pm

Lunar module

The lunar module (LM), comprising a lander named Vikram and a rover named Pragyaan made a successful landing on the lunar surface.

Following the successful landing, the Indian Research Organisation (ISRO) released a statement saying, “India, I reached my destination.” ISRO, celebrating the accomplishment, took to the platform known as X (formerly referred to as Twitter) to convey the message, “India, I reached my destination and you too!”
