What Is Khula That Sania Mirza Took From Shoaib?

With former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik marrying for the third time amid his divorce rumours with Sania Mirza, the tennis players’ father has come up with new details about the marriage and revealed that it wasn’t a divorce which ended the relationship, ‘it was a khula’.

What is Khula?

“Khula” is a right granted to women in Islam, allowing them the option to seek divorce, signifying the termination of their marriage. Following a divorce, the husband bears the responsibility for providing the education and financial support for the children. In the aftermath of the separation, the children typically reside with their mother until they reach the age of “Hizanat.” For sons, this age is seven years, while for daughters, it is until they reach the age of puberty.

Shoaib Malik’s marriage sparked a huge storm on the internet with many fans being startled with the news of the marriage despite the ongoing rumours of his divorce.

Shoaib Malik accompanied his social media post with the caption, “And we created you in pairs.” This caption quickly drew attention, generating curiosity and interest among his followers.

On the preceding Wednesday, Sania Mirza had also shared a cryptic message on her Instagram account, reigniting speculation about a potential divorce with the Pakistani cricketer.
