After nearly a month of voting, the electoral battle ended in five states and eyes are now set on March 10 – Assembly election results 2022 – when counting of votes will begin in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur. The results of the assembly elections will decide the future of these states for the next five years.
In Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state, the election remains the biggest contest with 403 assembly seats. The much-awaited results will decide whether Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led BJP will break the 35-year-old tussle in Uttar Pradesh and come back for a second term. Many see the 2022 UP elections as a semi-final to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, and a victory this time will give a big boost to the BJP’s prospects.
