What! 50 Minutes Wait For A Cab; Bengaluru Man Shares His Story

Many Bengaluru residents deal with frustrating situations; the city is frequently in the news for its chaotic transportation problems. People on social media share their stories of being stuck in traffic.

Rajesh Sawhney, a commuter, recently highlighted the challenges of Bengaluru’s transportation system. In a statement, he expressed frustration, and wrote, “I haven’t come across any city more messed up than Bangalore,” accompanied by a screenshot displaying a 50-minute wait time for an Uber cab. He further added “From Uber drivers to auto rickshaw drivers, from politicians to local vendors, this city in India is arguably the most corrupt. How will circumstances alter?”

People share their experiences with Bengaluru

Many people who had been in a similar situation saw Mr. Sawhney’s post and responded. One shared his terrifying experience at Bangalore Airport when an Uber driver said to charge more to turn on AC. He wrote “An Uber driver from Bangalore Airport today objected to turning on the air conditioning, stating that Uber Go isn’t equipped with one. He turned it on when I insisted, then demanded more money at the drop-off.

Another user replied to this and wrote, “Yes, sir, after working in six Indian cities, I can say with certainty that Bangalore has the highest level of corruption”.

The third one commented “Things with me have become worse over time with each trip to the city. Proper water is lacking, there is corruption in taxis and cars, there are needless charges, landlords are beyond the law, and so forth”.

Nonetheless, a lot of people justified the circumstances despite the chorus of complaints. Arguments erupted accusing the algorithm of the app of allocating drivers who were kilometers away, prolonging wait times.
