“In view of the prevailing heat wave conditions, the competent authority in the State Government has decided that all Autonomous / State / Central Government Aided / Private Universities / Affiliated Colleges in the State of West Bengal, except in the hilly areas of Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts, shall remain will remain closed for a week from 17th April 2023 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Vice Chancellors of Universities are requested to take necessary action accordingly,” reads the official notice.
