west bengal board announces new guidelines for social distancing in schools

The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education on Sunday issued guidelines for the reopening of schools. It directed all affiliated schools to conduct optional offline classes for secondary students. Class 10th and 12th will have physical classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, while class 9th and 11th will have physical classes on Tuesday and Thursday.

Guidelines have been issued in an effort to maintain social distancing.

Here are some other guidelines for students.

  • The matters of academic study on alternate non-school days will be looked after by the school management.
  • Classes of class 10th and 12th will run from 10:50 am to 04:30 pm from Monday to Friday in all hill sub-divisions except Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts.
  • Classes will run from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm for Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts.
  • Classes will not be held on Saturdays.
  • Parental feedback sessions, awareness generation and orientation sessions will be conducted on Saturdays.
