Kolkata : Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday received the Gold Skoch Award for Municipal Governance for its COVID management.
Dedicating the award to the citizens of Bidhannagar, BMC Board of Administrators Chairman Krishna Chakraborty said that it was a joint effort and dedicated work of all civic officials towards getting the recognition.
“From the very beginning, we are taking all necessary steps and measures towards fighting the COVID pandemic. We have vaccinated more than 95% of the people with the first dose of the COVID vaccine. We have provided safe house facility. We have reached the homes of the elderly with food and medicine and are doing whatever is necessary. We dedicate this award to the people of Bidhannagar.
