The ongoing tussle between BJP and TMC in West Bengal is not taking its name. On one issue or the other, both the parties come face to face with each other. Tension escalated outside the Thakurbari temple in Kolkata on Saturday morning as 200-250 BJP workers allegedly stopped Trinamool Congress (TMC) general secretary and MP Abhishek Banerjee from entering the temple premises.

Regarding this, TMC national general secretary and MP Abhishek Banerjee said that this holy land is not anyone’s property, but a temple, which is open to all caste, creed or religion. Shantanu Thakur and other BJP workers today defiled the Thakurbari temple through their activities. People will give a befitting reply to this in the near future.

He further accused BJP of harassing women devotees and disrespecting the holy place of Matua community and said that BJP leaders used central forces to attack women. Four of these are now hospitalized. BJP has always done religion based politics and has never cared for the betterment of the people. Religion should be confined to the homes of the people.
