WEF’s Davos Agenda 2022: PM Modi’s virtual address on January 17. Know the major focus areas of the event

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Davos Agenda virtual event on 17 January (Monday).

The event is scheduled to begin on January 17 and end on January 21. It will include heads of state and government, CEOs and other leaders as they tackle the critical challenges the world is seeing.

PM Modi will deliver a special speech at the Davos Agenda virtual event on January 17 at 4:00 PM CET (8:30 PM IST).

Apart from PM Modi, many other leaders of the world will give special speeches at the virtual event. Some prominent names include Antonio Guterres, Secretary General, United Nations; Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General, World Health Organization (WHO); Japan’s Prime Minister Kishida Fumio; Scott Morrison, Prime Minister of Australia; Israel’s Prime Minister Naftali Bennett; Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo; Janet L. Yellen, United States Secretary of the Treasury; Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President of Nigeria.

The World Economic Forum said, “The Davos Agenda Virtual Event provides the first global forum of 2022 for world leaders to share their visions for the year ahead.”

The dialogue will focus on critical collective challenges in several key areas such as climate action, pandemic recovery, economic and social resilience and global cooperation.

According to the WEF, the event will also mark the launch of a number of initiatives, including efforts to “accelerate the race to net-zero emissions, ensure economic opportunities for nature-positive solutions, build cyber resilience, strengthen global value chains, This includes building economies, bridging the gap in vaccine manufacturing, and using data solutions to prepare for the next pandemic through human investment in vulnerable markets.

Speaking about the Davos agenda, Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, said: “Everyone expects that the COVID-19 pandemic, and the crises that come with it, will finally begin to subside in 2022. But major global challenges await us, from climate change to rebuilding trust and social cohesion. To address them, leaders will need to adopt new models, look long-term, renew collaboration, and act systematically. The Davos Agenda 2022 is the starting point for the negotiations needed for global cooperation in 2022.”
