Weekly lockdown to continue from Friday to Monday: Government – Kashmir Pathak

SRINAGAR: Amid a surge in COVID-19 cases, the government on Sunday decided to continue the 64-hour lockdown in Jammu and Kashmir from 2 pm on Friday.
In an order issued by the State Executive Committee headed by Chief Secretary Dr Arin Kumar Mehta, the government has reiterated most of the measures announced by it since the onset of the third COVID-19 wave.
“Night curfew will continue from 9 pm to 6 am in all districts with complete ban on non-essential movement,” the order, a copy of which is with the GNS, read, “There will be complete ban on this also. Non-essential movement across Jammu and Kashmir every Friday from 2.00 PM to 6.00 AM on Monday.
All offices have been asked to regulate the attendance of their employees in such a way as to ensure that proper social distancing norms are maintained.
“Pregnant female employees will be exempted from physical presence. They will be allowed to work from home.”
The order states that disabled employees will also be given the option to work from home.
“The maximum number of people allowed to attend any indoor/outdoor gathering will be strictly restricted to 25.”
Banquet halls in all districts of J&K shall be designated for gathering of 25 vaccinated persons (not older than 72 hours with verifiable RT-PCR or RAT) or 25% of the authorized capacity (whichever is less), preferably in open spaces. has been permitted. ,
“Cinema halls, theatres, multiplexes, restaurants, clubs, gymnasiums and/swimming pools are allowed to function at 25% of the authorized capacity as per CAB and SOPs.”
In respect of educational institutions, all the colleges, schools, coaching centers for polytechnics, ITIs, civil services/ engineering/ NEET etc. have been asked to adopt online mode of teaching. “There will be no in-person teaching.”
Educational institutions, it said, would be allowed to direct the attendance of immunization staff only for administrative purposes. “The head of the institution should ensure that the guidelines relating to social distancing and COVID Appropriate Practices (CAB) are strictly followed.”
The SEC said enforcement of the CAB is important in determining the need for additional sanctions.
“The District Magistrate (Chairman, DDMA) of the respective districts of J&K shall adopt a zero tolerance policy for non-compliance of COVID Appropriate Practices (CAB) and take appropriate action against defaulters under relevant sections of the Disaster Management Act, Epidemic Act and Will make sure Indian Penal Code.”
